Apideo goes HD!

Finally!

It took us time but with the latest release of Apideo (v 1.7.5), you can now stream in HD!

Before version 1.7.5, if you where in restricted bandwidth condition, you could see "blocks" in the video. This is because Apideo is using Flash to stream video. Up to Flash version 10, the codec used to encode video (named "Sorenson") was not that efficient. But with the latest release of Flash (11+), Flash now encodes video in H264 format. This format is way better at encoding, so with the same bandwidth, we can get a better quality.

For you, Apideo users, the change is completely transparent. You don't have to change a single line of code, and if your users use Flash 11, they will be streaming in H264 automatically. Also, please note that Flash can read H264 from Flash 9 update 3. So even if one of your users is still using Flash 9, he won't be able to publish using H264 (he will be using the old Sorenson codec), yet, he will be able to see H264 videos.

We hope you will enjoy this new feature!
