Scenario Possibility

Postby james.c.johnson on Tue 26 Jan 2010, 17:38

Hey Everyone.

I want to be able to capture the video and store it on my site server side. Is that possible with Apideo? Like the way I can post a video to facebook?

Thanks so much in advance!

Hi James,

Actually, Apideo does not offer yet any way to store or record streams. It is currently only focused at real-time streams and real-time events.
It is our will to add recording features in the future, but on the short term, we are focusing on the video quality and more options regarding token security for the release of Apideo 1.0.

So do not expect video capture before the second semester.

Best regards,
David.

David,
thank you so much for your reply.

We are looking at solutions that are needed right now and will definitely return in the future once you have this capability, but do you know of another package available that can do this right now?

Thanks so much for your suggestions.

Hi James,

I must admit I haven't really looked in depth at other solutions to record video.
I don't know any API or services to do it. If you have a good understanding of Flash, you can have a look at Flash Media Server (or its open-source variant: Red5). This will require much more work than using an API like Apideo, but those 2 solutions can record video streams.

Best regards,
David.
