Hi Alan!
The way we designed Apideo is to offer a minimal set of feature that enable users to do a lot of things they usually can't do with a normal web application. There is actually 3 subsets of features:
- Sending real-time events
- Publishing and playing video
- Tracking users
By combining sending real-time events and a Javascript drawing library, you can develop a whiteboard (we encourage a lot the "do-it-yourself" approach actually).
So basically, a whiteboard is a "high level" feature, while the Apideo core library focuses on low level features.
If you are not familiar with Javascript of with any drawing libraries (like SVG or Canvas...), you might want to wait for us to write a Whiteboard tutorial, and start from this tutorial to develop your own whiteboard.
Also, if you have a very specific needs, Apideo can also provide custom development.
It is almost certain we will never integrate the whiteboard in the core Apideo library, but we plan to add a number of additional features as "external modules" and if the whiteboard feature is often requested, we might develop it sooner than expected.
So anyone interested in the whiteboard feature can add a message below.
The more messages, the sooner we will focus on a tutorial or a special module.
Regards,
David.
